Steve Grantley is a British drummer with the legendary
punk rock band Stiff Little Fingers. He was also a member
of stadium rockers, The Alarm, and has worked with Billy
Duffy of The Cult, Glen Matlock of The Sex Pistols,
plus Julian Lennon and soul singer Oleta Adams. Steve
also fronts his own band, singing and playing guitar
with RT-Zed.
RT-Zed was formed by Steve in 2000. Throughout the years,
though busy with his commitments to Stiff Little Fingers
and The Alarm, he managed to record sporadically with
RT-Zed and perform one-off gigs. In 2000 they released
their first album Return To Zero followed by Honour
The Barbarian in 2003. This year also found them contributing
to a Clash Tribute album with their version of The Clash
classic Guns Of Brixton.
Zed Hed is RT-Zed s latest album. It is a collection
of high energy, modern, alternative rock songs with
a punk edge and a pop sensibility. The CD is available
on the Hypermania Music Company label from the official
RT-Zed website, www.rtzed.com, and Steve s own personal
site, www.stevegrantley.co.uk, as well as iTunes, Amazon,
and all good music outlets.
The band played a series of well-attended one-off shows
in the UK showcasing their new material and has also
played in support of Kirk Brandon s Westworld Weekend
where their tracks were very well received. More shows
are scheduled in the UK for this coming October 2014.
Currently available on the official RT-Zed website rtzed.com:
Recent reviews of Zed Hed, interview footage with Steve
outlining the inspiration for the album, the official
video for the track Get What You Want, a bizarre video
of the closing track of the album 11:11, plus three
live in concert songs from one of their British September
dates, and audio jukebox snippets of four songs from
the Zed Hed album.
